This painting is based on a photo of a Russian Olive tree in a naturalized area close to my house. I have always been drawn to this tree. It stands out at the edge of the meadow. Out flanked by the pines and spruce it holds on to centre stage. It is the late leafer and I always wonder if the winter took it tole on it. Then it bursts out it light colored leaves that last well into fall. It has an arching majestic stance, the one that is different from the rest.
Painting wise this is me playing with my new style using my photos as a guide.
