I think I have found a new love, torch and braising rods. It is so cool to make the connections between two pieces of metal by melting another metal onto them. they glow and each piece has a different glow depending of what it is made of. Some of my old old pieces have a speckled glow and some are wrought iron and spit back at the flame (or my face. I have learnt not to be too close). Then when it fused it is slick. The braising is a wonderful highlight to my eye. Here is the 2nd side table complete with the highlights and then being funktional. On the white background the brass bleeds out in the photo. The brass is the colour (and metal) of the braised connections. This piece is not square, not does it have much of any straight lines. Wonderfully wonky and useful. 🙂
